The Internet Phenomenon

In the last years the internet became an important part of our lives. The internet is a web that people use to improve their life. We can’t live for one a day without the internet; it might sound stupid, but this is our reality. Some people (verb?) against the phenomenon of using the internet, but we can all see that the Internet has changed our lives- for better or worse.

The positive side of the internet includes the ability to use useful things. Such as the email, which allows us comminute(ww.) from far places and sign up to websites(phr. - what do you mean? and how do you relate that to the first part of your sentence). For some people the internet is their work. They, spend all of their time on the computer, surfing the internet and looking for opportunities to find worth while deals and improve their business career. Also, You can find a lot of activities that may attract you, such as games, chat rooms and social networks.

The negative side of the internet includes violence, pornography, lack of physical activities and strangers people. Children are exposed to violence when they chat with strange people. The pornography is open to everyone, so young children can watch pornographic substance. Furthermore, people who spend a lot of their time on the internet neglect their fitness(and how is all of that bad?).

In my opinion, the internet is an important invention, it includes very useful things, such as opportunities to use the email, improve your business, being exposed to new languages etc. But in order to use all of the benefits of the internet we must be very careful from the impropriate substance, like porn and chats with unknown people. It also influences our fitness and way of life. To sum up, I think we should use the internet wisely and be aware of the advantages and disadvantages of using it.

B.F.F ?!

All day long we talk about our friends and their behavior. We love to criticize them and decide if they are good enough for us and if they deserve us. We think that our friends should be the closest to us, like we love to say “BFF” (Best Friends Forever). But think of it, do we really know what the meaning of a good friend is?

From my point of view, I believe, that a good friend should have some specific qualities that would show that he can be a good friend for me. First of all, if my friend really likes me, he has to act like a person that really cares about me. Giving a person the feeling that there is someone for him makes him feel secured. A friend should also be considerate and patient. For example, there are situations that you feel bad and a good friend(verb?) supposed to be there with you and make you feel better, even if it requires a lot of patience and consideration.

Moreover, a friend should be loyal. If your friend is not loyal, it shows that he is not the good friend you have thought he is. A good friend is a friend that wouldn’t go and talk about me behind my back; he needs to give me the feeling that I can trust him. People don’t like that someone criticizes their behavior, but I think that a good friend should come over and tell me that I was wrong and try to help me change my way of thinking and acting.

I think that a good friend is a person that (verb?) willing to sacrifice himself for me. In my world, my closest friends are more important than my family. After all, who really knows what you are going through? I recommend you all to be good friends; you don’t want to lose some of your friends just because you were wrong. After all, no body wants to be lonely.

Team Sports For the Win :P

In these days we can see many kinds of sports. There are two kinds of sports, the first one is individual sports, such as jogging, biking and swimming. The second is team sports, such as football and basketball. Some people prefer team sports and others prefer individual sports.

Team sports are sports that people do together, in groups. The team sports gives people the ability to work in a team and for the team. The fact that people are working together makes everyone want to improve for the team. People will do anything to win, which leads them to be fit.

But when someone takes part in a team, he wants to prove himself, and to be better than the other members in the team. The feeling of being the best makes the team be not united. Working in a team can make people feel that their best is not enough, and it may reduce their motivation .

In my opinion, people should do sports team(phr.), inspite of the bad influence it has on people, I think that the good influence on them(phr.) is more significant. I am a competitive person, and I believe it makes us more motivated. I hope that people who do not feel comfortable in a team will understand how much the team can help them.

Not bad, but it needs some more work.

Virtual School:

Honestly, what is the first thing you, a student, do when you come back home from school? Well I guess your answer would be “run first of all toward the computer”. Imagine learning in a classroom, which takes place on the Internet. A class without walls, desks, blackboards or notebooks, imagine learning in a "virtual class".

.

On the one hand, Learning through the internet allows every student to learn at his own pace and if he needs help, he can send an e-mail to his virtual teacher. A virtual school gives the student an opportunity to be anywhere he wants, not like in class when the teacher asks you to sit down the whole lesson. This difference motivates the pupils to study. Moreover, Learning in a virtual school costs less than learning in a regular school. Researches have shown that students who learning(gr.) in a virtual classroom did 20% better than students who studied the same material in a regular classroom.(what does this fact have to do with the cost?)

On the other hand, learning in a virtual class prevents from teenagers the social gathering. If now children spend too much time on the computer, what will be(ww.) when they will(מיותר) take a part on(ww. - in) a virtual class? Will they sit on the computer all they long?. More than that, it has medical influence on us(phr.), because our eyes get ruin(gr.) from sitting in front of the screen. We do not want to live in a world where the computer is our "best friend".

So after all that, can we tell if a virtual class is better then(sp.) a regular class? It's probably too early to decide, but we can tray(sp.) this new thing. In my school we (have) already started trying it by writing English blogs on web, which (is) meant to improve our English. In my eyes, a virtual school is the best of both worlds- learning and having fun. I hope everyone will take part in this program and won’t be disappointed from it. In the future, we will see what survived(ww. + gr.)- the virtual school or the regular school.

Dear Ms. Simon,

I'm writing this letter because I wish to complain about the high price of the trip to Poland, Which prevents a lot of students from attending(ww. - taking part in) this life changing journey. Every year Israeli students and teachers go on this trip. The trip to Poland is very important to Israelis and Jews all over the world. Many children in my school want to take part in this journey, but some of them can not because of its high price.

First of all, this trip to Poland is important and necessary for our nation, because the story of it(phr.), it is our history. We are Jewish and we can not leave the past of our nation in the past, it is a part of us. For some students in my school this journey is much more important and close to them, because their family was killed or past(ww.) the Holocaust.

.

Secondly, it is important to the students in my school to represent our school with a large number of students. We feel proud to be a part of the great expedition, and we do not want that(מיותר) money problems will(gr. - to) prevent this feeling(phr.) from us. In addition, the trip includes mental preparation of us and of our parents(phr.), and it also includes practical preparation of the school, this means we have to give an additional payment of money(phr.).

In conclusion, it is unfair that a large group of students, who (have) waited to go on this journey in expectation(ww.), will have do(ww. - to) dill(sp.) with the fact that they won’t flay(sp.) to Poland because of financial problems. I hope you will take seriously my complaint about the high price of the trip. I would appreciate your efforts and it seems to me that you(should) find a solution to this urgent problem.

A Book Review- "The Thorn Birds"

I would like to review the book I have read "The Thorn Birds". This is a 1977 best-selling novel by Colleen McCullough, an Australian author and the most popular novel of recent times. This is a story of deep, rich, and forbidden love, betrayal, tragedy, and ambition. The book's title refers to a mythical bird that searches for thorn trees from the day it is hatched. When it finds the perfect thorn, it impales it self, and sings the most beautiful song ever heard as it dies. This is a truly wonderful story set primarily in Australia, circa 1915 and then spanning several generations to the post World War II era.

This is the story of the Poor Cleary family and the main character is the young Cleary daughter, Meggie. Meggie's father, Paddy, is a kind and simple labouring Irishman. Paddy has a wealthy sister, Mary Carson, who lives in Australia on an enormous sheep station called Drogheda. One day, Paddy receives a letter from Mary offering him a job on her estate. He accepts, and the whole family moves to the outback.

Here Meggie meets Father Ralph de Bricassart, the local Catholic priest, and falls in love with him. Ralph is a good and ambitious man, who certainly does nothing to encourage this love, but who certainly returns it , as he regards Meggie as the daughter he can never have. As Meggie matures, he comes to regard her in a more romantic way. A great struggle arises between this love, on the one hand ("the forbidden rose") and his ambition to become a Cardinal or perhaps more, on the other. The book always has an undercurrent where you can feel their longing and endless love for each other, even though they are not together.

You can see, I really like this book, and I think that McCullough is a genius for combining three generations of the Cleary family into one novel. The introductory story of the thorn bird is a lesson for life: all sadness will pass, and one day something beautiful will come from that pain. I hope my review attracted you to read this wonderful book

Fast food is the term given to food that can be prepared and served very quickly. While any meal with low preparation time can be considered to be fast food, typically the term refers to food sold in a restaurant or store with low quality preparation and served to the customer in a package form for take-away.

I think that food manufacturers should be held responsible for producing healthier food, because we eat the food we buy, which is made by the manufacturers. We can say, in other words, that our nutrition depends on the manufacturers. To protect our health the manufacturers have to make healthy food. For example, many restaurants serve the most common fast food- French fries and Hamburger, we eat them and ruin our health.

The food industry needs to consider us, after all, it's wotrkers also eat this food. If you eat too much fast food over a long period of time, it can lead to health problems, like high blood pressure, heart disease, and obesity. We don’t want someone have health problems, so we have to be considerate.

.

To conclude, I believe that the manufacturers should be responsible and make healthier food. They should not exploit our dependence on them and serve us junk food. After all, what is most important? Money or health?
